Chad Finley Racing
Chad Finley’s love for racing began at 10 years old racing in Go-Karts near his hometown in East Lansing, Michigan. When Finley decided to graduate to full time stock cars he did so at just 14 years old in 2006 with the ASA Late Model Series and went full time in 2007 when, at 15 years old, he earned Rookie of the Year honors in the Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models division at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan becoming the youngest driver in track history to do so.
In 2008, Finley picked up his career-first feature win at Spartan in the Outlaw Super Late Models, and two months later, backed that up with his first feature win in the Template Bodied Super Pro Late Model Series.
In 2009 and 2010 he ran a limited schedule in the ARCA Racing Series driving for Brad Keselowski Racing. In 11 career ARCA starts between 2009 and 2010, Finley scored three top-five and six top-10 finishes, including three podium finishes. Additionally, Finley earned one ARCA pole award with a new track record in the 2009 season finale at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.
During the inaugural JEGS | CRA All-Stars Tour season in 2011, Finley finished third in the final points standings. In 2012 and 2013, Finley stayed on the roll. Collecting three wins on the JEGS | CRA All-Stars Tour. Two of which came at Columbus Motor Speedway and the other at Springport Motor Speedway. Furthermore, Finley racked in two new track records and three fast qualifier awards throughout the season, including the prestigious Rattler 250.
Finley returned to the ARCA Racing Series in 2016, driving for his family-owned Chad Finley Racing team, picking up where he left off with strong performances. Also, in 2016 Finley discovered a passion to fill his free time. A passion he found through good friend Mike Staszak dirt racing. Finley drove a part time schedule for his family race team.
Picking up multiple podium finishes and won the Wood-Tic 100 at the Merritt Speedway. The speedway’s biggest race of the year.
In April 2017, Finley scored his biggest victory in a national touring series when he picked up the win at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville on the ARCA Racing Series tour.
Finley also returned to the dirt in 2017. Learning the craft of dirt racing. Finley founded his own dirt team in 2017 and in 2018 will do some traveling with his Rocket XR-1 Chassis.
The 2018 season saw Finley make his return to the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series where he competed in three races. The Chad Finley Racing team made a splash in their season debut at Gateway (Ill.) Motorsports Park – where after qualifying 20th, Finley maneuvered quickly inside the top-10 before finishing a career-best sixth.
The team also made attempts at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and the famed Martinsville (Va.) Speedway with Finley at the helm.
In ARCA competition, the team made just a solo start at their hometown track of Michigan International Speedway.
For the 2019 season, Finley returned to the Gander Outdoor Truck Series where his team made selective starts throughout the season with a number of drivers. Finley, himself, ran four races with a best finish of 18th at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in May.
Towards the end of the 2019 season, Finley decided to step away from asphalt racing and return to dirt racing running select American Ethanol Late Model Tour Series races and other tracks and at I-96 Speedway where he quickly won races and ultimately captured the championship.
In 2020, Finley took home the crown as the Dirt Car National East champion. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his team put together five victories and runner-up to the championship at Merrit (Mich.) Speedway. He also placed 10th overall in the 2020 UMP National Championship standings and third in the Tri-City Speedway Championship standings.
